Tango has been central in Alberto’s life since he was a young man – at first just dancing for fun, with his mother and sisters, later in his teens going with friends to listen to live music in the famous old tango bars on and around Corrientes Avenue. It was in one such bar that he had the good fortune to meet Alfredo Gobbi, and through him to dance his first steps in a milonga. Since then he has never stopped dancing, and in recent years he has been invited to Europe and the USA to pass on to another generation the magic that is tango for him. His tango, he will tell you, is all about rhythm and romance: a tango should be danced with poetry, he says.

Eva Garlez and Alberto Dassieu have worked together in group and private classes for many years and have a deep understanding of each other’s technique and style.
