| ABEL PERALTA |
Abel Peralta began dancing tango 30 years ago at the then-famous milonga Palacio in his neighbourhood of Flores. He’d danced traditional jazz and rock & roll in his youth but in his late twenties discovered it was the tango that brought contentment into his life. In the 70s tango still maintained its time-honoured traditions of dress and conduct, and Abel admits he misses those times (which, like many porteño milongueros, he keeps alive by meticulous preparation for the milonga – always a neatly pressed suit, including a pocket handkerchief to match his tie). Liliana Godoy, who has danced socially with Abel for many years, is fascinated by his giros and will explore his individual technique in their classes together.
Class content:
2 classes for Level C, Saturday 14 and Sunday 15, 12.30-14hs, taught with Liliana Godoy.
The classes will focus on giros in the Vals: use of the pause, of space and of the music. |
